Crowe & Dunn is, above all else, a trial firm. We have successfully tried cases in state and federal courts. As a result, we successfully resolved countless other cases without the need for a trial. During our 20 plus years of existence, Crowe & Dunn has never participated in any paid marketing or other paid advertising efforts. Instead, virtutally all of our clients are referred by other attorneys who recognize the focus of our practice or past clients, who appreciate the results we obtained. Crowe & Dunn has the highest possible (AV) rating from the international legal directory Martindale-Hubbell and our lawyers are annually listed as Super Lawyers in their fields. We represent a wide range of clientele from a wide array of communities and sectors.
AV® Preeminent™ (5.0) - An AV® Certification Mark is a significant rating accomplishment - a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence.
The Probate and Family Courts can often be an emotional battleground. Whether it is a simple divorce or a dispute over custody or assets, we have attorneys who are skilled at handling the matter. We have represented husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, grandparents, and other family members who are involved in disputes in the Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts. We have handled simple and highly complex complaints for divorce, modification, and contempt, including those involving the division of the marital estate, the valuation of assets and business concerns, issues of custody and visitation, the desires of parents to relocate and remove children from the state, as well as other matters. We have also handled numerous cases involving disputes over wills, trusts, and estates.
Families, unfortunately, sometimes become pitted in battle over gifts and inheritances. As part of our practice, we handle complex litigation involving disputes over wills, trusts, and estate plans. Sometimes such disputes involve claims involving heirs at law, i.e., a person who might customary anticipate receiving an inheritance because of the nature of their blood relationship to the decedent, being excluded from an estate. In some such circumstances, arguments are made by the excluded person that the estate plan was not the true wishes of the decedent, but that will or estate planning instrument was the product of undue influence, or made at a point in time when the decedent lacked testamentary capacity.
Not only have we successfully prosecuted civil claims against professionals for malpractice, but we have defended individuals who are professionals against criminal charges and actions brought against them before various licensing boards, including the Boards of Registration. Some of our clients include doctors, pharmacists, accountants, teachers, lawyers, and other professionals whose careers, reputations, and livelihoods are at stake.
In criminal cases, an individual's liberty and reputation is often at stake. Crowe & Dunn has attorneys who are dedicated to zealously advocating for its clients, especially those charged or indicted for criminal offenses. From complex cases involving charges of murder or rape to more simple hearings before a Clerk Magistrate, we devote the time and necessary attention to our clients who are accused of a crime.
We have handled cases involving charges ranging from first degree murder, rape, sexual assault, armed home invasion, motor vehicle homicide, to operating under the influence, assault and battery, domestic violence, and violations of Chapter 209A. We have also successfully handled cases involving white collar crime and cyber crime. We utilize cutting edge technology and basic leg work to get the job done.
This firm has represented both employers and employees in all areas of employment disputes. Some of the cases we have successfully handled include matters involving claims of violations of the Wage Act, claims of breach of confidentiality and covenants not to compete, claims of embezzlement, theft, and claims of other misconduct by employees and corporate officers alike. We have handled cases ranging from the dissolution of businesses and partnership breakups, to negotiating exit strategies for highly skilled professional from their positions. Our lawyers also have experience in litigating discrimination and harassment claims in state and federal courts, as well as before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
